Los Angeles International (LAX)
Official Information
There are no USPS facilities to drop off correspondence at LAX.
Per the LAX Website:
Postal services are not available in any of the terminals at LAX. Travelers need to mail their correspondence before coming to the airport. The nearest U.S. Postal Service is located at 9029 Airport Blvd., Los Angeles, California 90009. Regular business hours are everyday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. For information, call 1-800-ASK-USPS.
So if you’re short on time, the best thing to do is wait until you’re out of LAX. However, you’re not completely in trouble – you have some “close” options.
Nearest Post Office
Here’s where the nearest USPS Post Office is:
It’s pretty darn far away from the terminals – not walkable, but if you’re near car rentals and absolutely need something the USPS can only provide, this is it.
The Best Option – when they’re open
Head to The UPS Store just north of the airport if they’re open:
This is walkable from the airport; from Terminal 7 it’s about a 20 minute walk. From TBIT you’re looking at 35 minutes or so by foot one-way; you may want to grab a cab if you’re short on time. But it’s safely walkable if you can spare 2-3 hours (depending on terminal).
There’s also a “Mail Call LAX” north of The UPS Store if you need it, but I bet it’s not any different than The UPS Store.
The real bonus is stopping at the In-N-Out afterwards, grabbing a burger, and watching planes land while eating.
