The Story

I’ve been writing correspondence for a few years.

Back in 2015, I visited Seattle. On the way back home at Sea-Tac, I found a drop box inside security. I photographed it and commented that it was really nice to have the airport provide a drop box for those times where you need to put something in the mail.

During the flight home, I wondered if other airports had the same service. Once home I found a post on the Letter Writers Alliance blog about a site dedicated to airport mailboxes. I bookmarked it for future reference.

Fast forward to 2016: I’m at another airport and need to drop off a letter I wrote while on vacation. No problem – I click on the bookmark I have and find… a parked domain. The entire site’s gone. History.

Not only that, later on I find that there is no cache of the previous site. All that effort, lost.

It was then that I decided to see if I could recreate the site for those of us who travel and need to find a place to mail a letter or those vacation postcards at the airport.
